A growing list of Philadelphia area universities and colleges are altering their schedules and halting in-person classes and activities in response to the coronavirus COVID-19. Many are extending spring break and using that time for faculty to prepare for remote learning. Philadelphia police have arrested and charged a man in the shooting of a 4-year-old boy on Saturday night, 3/7. 23-year-old Jerrod Miner is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and weapons charges. It happened around 8 p.m. on the 5500 block of North 4th Street in the city's Olney section. Miner was inside the home playing around a group of children when he brought out a gun. Montgomery County officials announced two new coronavirus cases. These two new presumptive positive COVID-19 cases are from the same household in Lower Merion Township.
