Philadelphia Police have now identified the woman who died after she was found badly burned in a house fire in Roxborough on Sunday. Local Philadelphia teacher Shelia Hawkins was found in the home and was rushed to Temple University Hospital where she later died from her injuries. The fire broke out just before 8 am on Sunday on the 600 block of Renz Street. Crews were able to get the fire under control by 8:10 am. A man was shot and killed while driving in West Philadelphia on Saturday night and crashed his mini-van into a building. It happened around 6 p.m. on the 600 block of North 52nd Street. The 29-year-old male driver was shot in the chest/right side. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he died from his injuries. At least 27 people were injured when a senior living facility went up in flames last night in West Chester, although investigators are still trying to account for everyone. Montgomery County police have placed a man into custody after they found thousands of child pornography images on his computer. 28-year-old Zachary Geib was arrested after police had a search warrant to investigate his home in Schwenksville. An investigation began after a tip came in of a child pornography image that was posted online. Officials were able to track down the IP address to Geib's home. A mistrial has been declared in the corruption case against New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez after jurors remained deadlocked on all charges after more than six full days of deliberations. U.S. District Judge Williams Walls declared the mistrial on Thursday after jurors said there were unable to reach a unanimous decision. A federal judge has stopped the U.S. government from denying Philadelphia a major grant because of its sanctuary city status. U.S. District Judge Michael Baylson stated on Wednesday that withholding the grant could cause harm to the city and its residents. New Jersey police have captured 3 of 4 teenagers who escaped from a juvenile detention center overnight. It started at the Harborfields Youth Detention Facility in Egg Harbor City around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. The four teens overpowered a guard and stole his keys. Philadelphia Police are now investigating a shooting that occurred in Oxford Circle involving a pregnant woman. Police say that the shooting took place on the 1500 block of Rosalie Street at around 6 pm on Tuesday night. The 21-year-old Tamara Vellon, who is nine months pregnant and due to give birth today, was shot by her 43-year-old neighbor Onice Cox. Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed inside an Applebees in Lawrenceville, Mercer County early Tuesday morning. It happened just before 12:30 a.m. at the restaurant at 3330 Brunswick Pike (Rt 1). The restaurant and bar is usually open until 1 a.m. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office says that the victim, a man in his 20's, was sitting at the bar. SEPTA officials have announced that they are going to change their bus policy regarding parents having their children in strollers while on the bus at off peak hours. Officials say that SEPTA receives around 10 stroller complaints a month from passengers that are either for or against open strollers on the bus.
