SEPTA Still Working, Heavy Rain Postpones Phillies Opener, New Rules at City Pools

The Transit Workers Union Local 234 has decided to continue to work while they negotiate with SEPTA over new contracts. So the busses, trains and trolleys will continue to roll, at least for now, as SEPTA employees keep on working. One of the sticking points is the length of the new contract. The Union wants 2 years. SEPTA would like a longer term.

Phillies Home Opener Postponed, SEPTA Strike Looming, North Philadelphia Shooting 11 Year Old

Monday afternoon's game between the Phillies and the Milwaukee Brewers has been postponed until Tuesday due to potential rain in the forecast. The Phillies 2014 home opener will now take place Tuesday, April 8th at 4:05 p.m. All tickets for the postponed April 7th game will be honored for entry into Tuesday's game. On March 22nd at 7PM, Vinyl Revival hosted another 1st Friday concert featuring local artists. This week the line up was: No Stranger, Arcadia on The Horizon, and Aron Deming. This was an acoustic evening with a mix of original compositions and covers. All the seats in the venue were filled with a mixture of family, friends, fans and local music lovers.

SEPTA Talks to Avoid Strike, Bartram High Violence, Close Replays Shown at Phillies Games

SEPTA is reporting progress in talks with unions to avoid a possible shutdown on Monday. The sides are discussing a 2 year deal. If a deal is not reached, a shutdown of nearly all mass transit in Southeast Pennsylvania could happen Monday. If a strike happens, only the Regional Rail, Para-Transit and University Loop would remain in service.

Suspect Fires on Philly Police, Mantua Man Dies in Cambodia, Corbett Health Plan

Philadelphia police have apprehended a suspect who opened fire on them overnight at 69th and Walnut in Upper Darby. The suspect had been driving erratically. When he was pulled over, the man fled on foot after firing shots and dropping the gun, but the police did not return fire and were able to catch up with him. The suspect has an active arrest warrant for a prior violent crime. No injuries were reported.
