The city of Boston went on lockdown early this morning. One of the bombing suspects is dead and the second is being pursued. Schools are closed, mass transit has been shut down and people are being urged to stay home. The suspects are believed to have robbed a convenience store, shot and killed an MIT police officer. A Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer was shot and killed Thursday night while investigating a disturbance on the campus of the university in Cambridge, MA across the Charles River from Boston. The FBI released photos and video Thursday of two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing and asked for the public's help in identifying them. The photos of the two men came from surveillance cameras near the explosion sites. Within moments of the announcement, the FBI website crashed, perhaps because of a crush of visitors.

On Wednesday, April 17, 2013, Ali Fausnaught, 19, fell to her death from a rooftop while partying near Temple University for "Spring Fling". She was hanging out on top of the roof with some friends and for reasons that are not known, fell over a 10-inch ledge. She fell 40 feet onto the concrete. An explosion and fire in Texas at a fertilizer plant fire has claimed the lives of as many as 15 people.
