Kadafi, Quaddafi. Muammar, Moamar? As difficult as it is to follow the changing political landscape amid the unrest and revolution in the Arab world, it doesn't help when one man can have so many spellings to his name. But for the controversial leader of Libya, transations from Arabic to Roman letterings have led to over 112 different combinations. Here is a list:

Qaddafi, Muammar
Al-Gathafi, Muammar
al-Qadhafi, Muammar
Al Qathafi, Mu'ammar

  by: iradiotom - Philadelphia, PA
started: 02/22/11 4:54 pm | updated: 02/22/11 4:54 pm

Have you read the Philadelphia Inquirer headline? Bevilaqua Tried to Send Abuser to Another Diocese. By itself, the headline may suggest that the Archdiocese, and specifically its Cardinal, mis-handled abuser priests. However, the story refers to an incident that happened in the 1970’s when Bevilaqua was an Auxillary Bishop in Brooklyn. According to the story, an abuser priest wanted to return to his Brooklyn parish after finishing treatment. Bevilaqua said no. It’s... Read More

Radiohead releases new album "The King of Limbs"

by: quadpain - Huntingdon Valley, PA
started: 02/19/11 1:16 am | updated: 02/19/11 1:26 am

Radiohead's eighth album "The King of Limbs" is now here, and "shockingly" available a day earlier than announced. (I admit I did opt to pay $0 for that one to see if it would work). Anyway, it's $9 for... Read More
