A Pennsylvania pharmacist is under arrest after she attempted to kill her chronically ill mother by repeatedly injecting her with insulin. 54-year-old Donna Horger is charged with attempted murder and related offenses. Back in August, staff at Immaculate Mary Nursing Home in Philadelphia found her 74-year-old mother, Mary, unresponsive. She was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital. Police are now investigating after shots were fired into a Drexel Hill home on Wednesday night. The incident took place at around 10 pm on the 200 block of Wilde Avenue. The homeowner and three other family members were sitting in their home when shots were fired at the house. Thousands attended the funeral this morning of a Spring Garden man who was shot and killed last week in an attempted car jacking near his home. The mass was held at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Center City for 38-year-old Gerard Grandzol, a husband and father of two young daughters. A mother in Delaware County has now been arrested in connection with the discovery of a deadly drug that was found in an elementary school parking lot. Police say that 29-year-old Dollinda Williams dropped off her child at St. Bernadette's in Drexel Hill when two dozen bags of fentanyl fell out of her pocket or purse. Another parent found the drugs. Williams turned herself into police on Tuesday. She has now been charged with possession and reckless endangerment.

One person was killed and two were injured in a fire at a home in Wilmington last night. It happened around 11:10 p.m. Monday on the 100 block of West 37th Street. Flames were coming from the front door when firefighters arrived. Eventually they were able to enter the house and find a man trapped inside. Philadelphia Police are now investigating after a man was shot and killed in North Philadelphia. The shooting took place on the 2700 block of North 22nd Street at around 5:40 pm. Police say that the 29-year-old man was riding his scooter when he was shot 7 times. The victim's name has not yet been released, and police are still searching for the suspect or suspects responsible.

The Philadelphia area was overcome by a swarm of insects this evening. Citizens took to Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit to report the unusual amount of flying bugs in their neighborhoods.
