Adoptive Mother and Boyfriend Charged in Murder of 14-year-old Grace Packer of Abington

Charges have been filed against both the adoptive mother and her boyfriend in the case of a missing 14-year-old Abington girl found dismembered in Luzerne County last fall. Authorities described the entire gruesome incident as part of a rape-murder fantasy shared between the couple. 41-year-old Sara Packer and 44-year-old Patrick Sullivan have been charged with kidnapping, rape, murder, and related offenses.

A snowplow/salt truck driver got caught in power lines and a traffic light in Delaware County on Saturday afternoon. It happened early Saturday afternoon on northbound Rt. 202 in Chadds Ford near Rt. 1. The driver was attempting to shake or 'bump' salt from the front to the back by raising the trailer. The annual No Pants Subway Ride is scheduled for this Sunday. It started in 2002 by NYC-based comedy group Improv Everywhere and has grown to include cities all over the world. The concept is simple, get on the subway and take off your pants (keep your underwear on, no indecent exposure). A two vehicle crash in Center City on Friday morning left two people injured and a truck rolled over on its side. The crash happened on the 1500 block of Arch Street at around 4:45 am. Police say the driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle and it rolled over after colliding with another car. At least 5 people were killed, and 8 injured in a shooting at Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida. It happened just before 1 p.m. at the baggage claim inside Terminal 2. The gunman was taken into custody unharmed. He has been identified as 26-year-old Esteban Santiago born in New Jersey but has lived in recently in Alaska and has an address in Naples, FL. The City of Philadelphia has announced they will be issuing a Code Blue due to the extreme cold coming our way in the next couple days. Until next Wednesday, the Philly area is facing highs in only the 30's and officials are warning pedestrians to stay indoors during the harsh cold.
