Overbrook Teens Shot and Killed, Center City Robbers Arrested, Margaritaville Atlantic City

Teen brothers, 13 and 17, were shot and killed in the city's Overbrook neighborhood Tuesday night. The shooting happened inside a home in the 1300 block of Westbury Drive a little before 7:45 p.m. Investigators say the 13-year-old boy was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim died at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania a short time later after being shot in the chest.

Mayor Nutter is pointing at the massive sink hole and damage created by the water main break this week as evidence the city of Philadelphia needs more federal infrastructure dollars. The 100 year old water main eruption forced the evacuation of residents for blocks and the resulting water damage has many homeowners now trying to recover from insurance companies. On average Philly's water pipes are 70 years old.

Accused priest, Father James Brennan will be retried in the attempted rape of a 14 year old boy back in 1996. Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams wants to hold Brennan accountable for what he did. In June, the jury was deadlocked on the Brennan charges.

Gov. Chris Christie has ordered that flags on public buildings around New Jersey be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday in honor of those killed in the shooting rampage at a Colorado movie theater. Christie's order follows one by President Barack Obama that flags be flown at half-staff on federal buildings.

Corbett Says Taxpayers Won't Pay Penn State Fine, Paterno Family Furious, Robbery Suspect Loose

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett wants assurances Penn State won't use any tax dollars to pay the $60 million fine slapped on Penn State by the NCAA today. Corbett is relieved the NCAA did not shut down football altogether and is confident that the University, which is more than football, will still be considered world class.

The Joe Paterno statue came down yesterday at Penn State. And today the NCAA announced severe, punitive sanctions against Penn State because of the cover-up in the Jerry Sandusky scandal. Among others, Penn State will pay a $60 million fine which is equivalent to one year gross revenue from football, be banned from bowl games for 4 years, reduce football scholarships from 25 to 15 per year for 4 years. Today was Day 3 at the Firefly Music Festival and the sun finally made an appearance or two for Sunday, but didn't bear down on the crowds. It made for a very pleasant day in Dover, DE for concert goers whether they were weekend weary campers or day passers taking this all in for the time. The lines for the free Arcade were still long (especially the Skeeball) and if you wanted to design your own Toms shoes (after purchase of course) I think you had to get in line sometime Friday. NCAA Sanctions Coming To Penn State, Paterno Statue Removed, Firefly Festival Successful

The NCAA announced Sunday that it will issue sanctions against Penn State in the wake of a scathing report that found that top university officials buried child sex abuse allegations against Jerry Sandusky and led to the tearing down of the famed statue of once sainted coach Joe Paterno.
The bronze statue, weighing more than 900 pounds, was built in 2001 in honor of Paterno’s record-setting 324th Division I coaching victory and his “contributions to the university.”... Read More

More than 70 people were shot leaving twelve people dead in a movie theatre in Aurora, Colorado during a midnight showing of the new Batman movie. Reaction is global. Theatres in Paris, France will not debut the move as scheduled and New York has added extra security to theatres playing the Batman movie. Batman Movie Shooting, Funeral for Police Officer, SEPTA Train Kills Pedestrian

Twelve people are confirmed dead after a gunman opened fire in a movie theatre in Aurora, Colorado during a midnight showing of the new Batman movie. Eyewitness reports say two people entered the theatre from an emergency exit after the movie began. A smoke bomb was released and gunfire started. 50 people were injured. 10 were killed in the theatre. 2 more died in area hospitals. Police have a suspect.
