It was a game of peek-a-boo gone wrong. In a Camden County Laundromat, a dad stuffed a 1 year old in a washing machine, closed the door and dizzying mayhem followed. The child was locked in as the machine spun and filled with water. The entire incident was captured on video. A worker cut the power and removed the child unharmed.

Today, May 23rd, would be the 78th birthday for Robert "Bob" Moog, the inventor of the analog synthesizer in the 1950's. Moog synths took off in the late 60's after the Monterrey Pop Festival and 1970's when they became used more and more in rock and pop on record and live in concert. Moog became the de facto synthesizer for the entire music industry.

Joe Paterno earned a state pension of $13.4 million for his 61-year coaching career at Penn State. Paterno's widow, Sue, will receive an initial payment of $10.1 million by the end of May, with the rest to be paid out over the next two years. Calculations were made through the standard formula for anyone in the State Employees' Retirement System, and Paterno received no special consideration, according to his family. A Philadelphia Police officer, Bridgette Paris was arrested Monday for stealing from a toy store. Authorities allege Paris engaged in an on-going conspiracy of theft from a local toy store. She is charged with retail theft, unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, forgery and related offenses.

A cab driver for Main Line Taxi has been arrested and charged with possession, and possession with intent to distribute. Leonard Lavender of Philadelphia operated his cab in the Villanova section of Radnor township, and in addition to ferry fares, he had a nice side business delivering drugs to Villanova students. Dharun Ravi, 20, the former Rutgers University student convicted of bias intimidation and other charges for using a webcam to spy on his roommate, was sentenced today to 30 days in jail followed by 3 years probation. Ravi witnessed his roommate and another man kissing on the webcam just days before his roommate then committed suicide.

Two fires in Frankford have Philadelphia police looking for as arsonist. The two fires were a block apart over the weekend in abandoned buildings. Neighbors had to be evacuated as firefighters doused the 2 alarm blazes.

A 92-year-old woman died Sunday evening after a fire swept through a home in the city's Bridesburg neighborhood. The fire happened a little after 6 p.m. in the 2800 block of Hedley Street. The elderly woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
