Belmar Open Again; First Private School in PA for Gifted; Mural for Asian Gamblers

Belmar has re-opened after too many people overcrowded the shore town prompting the mayor to close access roads to outsiders. Mayor Matt Doherty ordered closing access from Route 35 for safety reasons as beachgoers and visitors to a seafood festival created the over-crowding. Belmar was officially closed to outsiders for about four hours and re-opened at about 7 pm yesterday.

Philadelphia's bike share program known as "Indego" which launched last April is proving to be a popular mode of transpiration particularly on weekends near the cities historic attractions. The mayor's office of transportation and utilities said the numbers show Indego bike stations near Independence Mall are some of the busiest in the city. There are about 600 Indego bikes with more than 60 stations position throughout the city with more planned for the future.

Mumford and Sons headlined Bonnaroo on Saturday night down on the farm in Manchester, TN. At the end of their set they brought out a few friends for a rousing cover of the Beatles' "With a Little Help of My Friends" a la Joe Cocker. They were joined by My Morning Jacket, Dawes, The War on Drugs, and Ed Helms. This group sometimes looks like they escaped from the 70's. Watch below:

Two people were found dead after a standoff and barricade situation in Philadelphia's Harrowgate neighborhood. It began around 2 p.m. when two officers were responding to a report of gunfire on the 3500 block of Emerald Street. As soon as the officer's arrived on the scene they were met with gunshots hitting their patrol car. During the second song of the night ("Monkey Wrench"), lead singer Dave Grohl broke his leg after falling from the front of the stage. Wildwood Defends Tram Car Phrase; Black Madam Apology; Parents Plead Guilty in Starvation

"Watch the Tram Car please." The Jersey shore town that made that phrase famous, Wildwood, wants to keep other shore towns from using it. Wildwood has sent a cease and desist letter to an Atlantic City tram car operator who is using not only the same phrase, but the actual recording that plays in the cars in Wildwood. The phrase has been used in tram cars in the Wildwoods since 1949.

The New Jersey Assembly Thursday passed a series of bills aimed at helping Atlantic City through its ongoing financial crisis in light of last year's closures of four casinos and the subsequent loss of 8,000 jobs.
