Philadelphia Police have released surveillance video in connection with a hit-and-run accident in Holmesburg last week that killed a women. On December 23rd, 33-year-old Theresa Pozzi was attempting to cross the street on the 8100 block of State Road when she was struck by an older model maybe Ford pickup truck. Authorities in Bensalem have announced charges against an 18-year-old driver in connection with the death of a 16-year-old high school student who was struck while getting on her school bus last month. It happened on December 17th, 2014 at 6:40 a.m. as Minete Zeka, a sophomore at Bensalem High, was crossing the street to get on her school bus on Bensalem Boulevard near Bridgewater Road. The 115th annual Mummers Parade kept the New Year's Day tradition alive in Philadelphia. In an event that is unique to Philadelphia, string bands, comics and other costumed, feathered performers danced all day to ring in the new year. Some traditionalists were unhappy with the change in the parade route. This year, the Mummers parade started at City Hall and moved south instead of ending at City Hall after moving north. Philadelphia Police are investigating a sexual assault that happened this morning in a parking garage in the city's Spring Garden section. It happened at 10:51 a.m. on the second level of a garage at 17th and Callowhill Streets near the campus of the Community College of Philadelphia. The suspect followed the 33-year-old victim into the garage forced her to take off her clothes and assaulted her. About a million people converged on Times Square in New York to ring in 2015. Temperatures were in the 20's as the ball dropped followed by a ton of confetti for the Happy New Year celebration. Things did no go as well at a New Year celebration in Shanghai. Thirty-five people were killed in a stampede at the city’s popular riverfront Bund area. Officials say another 43 people were injured amid the chaos about a half hour before midnight.

31-year-old Jillian Tait and 23-year-old Gary Fellenbaum were arraigned on Wednesday morning for the beating and torture death of three-year-old Scotty McMillan, Tait's son. The couple beat the child with their fists, a homemade whip, a metal rod, hit head head against a wall, and hung him upside down by his feet. The abuse lasted three days before the boy died. A Clifton Heights man was shot and killed by police in Drexel Hill on Tuesday afternoon after police tried to serve a warrant for terroristic threats. 52-year-old Joseph Pacini had been making threats on social media to kill police and FBI officials.
