New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal announced that he will be leaving his post for a position in the federal government. He will leave on July 26 and will become the director of the SEC's enforcement division. Grewel became the first Sikh-American Attorney General in the county when he took office in January 2018. Bill Cosby walked out of state prison on Wednesday afternoon, 6/30, just hours after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his conviction on sexual assault charges. They voted 4-3. 83-year-old Cosby had served over 2 years of a 10-year sentence. He left SCI Phoenix in Montgomery County and returned to his home in Cheltenham just outside Philadelphia.

Hall pled guilty to rape, along with charges of possession of an instrument of a crime, reckless endangerment, unlawful restraint, and related offenses. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced on Monday, June 28, that masks will not be mandatory for students in school buildings come this fall, "absent any dramatic change in our situation before the beginning of the school year." Individual school districts will still be able to implement their own policy. Students will still have to wear masks on school buses. Murphy previously announced that all schools will be returning to full-time, in-person learning.
