Three Jersey shore towns are giving themselves authority to seize beachfront land from owners who are blocking the federal government from building a protective dune system a year after Superstorm Sandy wreaked havoc along the shore. Mantoloking and Toms River gave themselves final approval Tuesday to seize the remaining seven easements it needs for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to do the work. Police have arrested three men for the shooting death of a South Jersey gas station attendant this past August during a robbery. On August 25th, three men robbed the Garden State gas station on N Broad Street in Woodbury, NJ around 9:00 pm. During the robbery, 40-year-old attendant Surinder Singh was shot in the chest and killed. Police are investigating a deadly crash on the Roosevelt Boulevard last night. The two vehicles involved may have been racing and both had a baby in the car. A female passenger in one of the cars was pregnant and was still in the car when it burst into flames. She is dead. A man in that car was able to get a baby out of a car seat before the fire.

Pearl Jam opened a two night stop in Philly last night at the Wells Fargo Center. Eddie Vedder, wearing a black ROCKY t-shirt, led the band through a high energy three hour set totaling 34 songs. The more familiar hits weren't included, in favor of the more fan fave album tracks, plus songs from the new release, Lightning Bolt. Pearl Jam plays the Wells Fargo Center again tonight.

Bucks County officials have determined that a decomposed body found under a tarp over the weekend died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The body was found in a wooded area under a tarp near an abandoned industrial park on M-Y Lane in Morrisville. It was discovered by a man walking on a trail around 4 p.m. Saturday. The Bucks County coroner said that body was a man around 40-50 years old. The coroner ruled the death a suicide and that he died from a single shot to the head. The... Read More

Finally, Hall and Oates have been nominated to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I have been disappointed for years at who has not been nominated. I do not in any way begrudge those that have been nominated and inducted. Hall and Oates are to me the quintessential Philly soul group.
