Neil Armstrong, Astronaut, First Man on Moon, Passes Away today |

Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, passed away today at the age of 82 a few weeks after heart surgery. He stepped onto the moon with the words "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" on July 20th 1969 during the Apollo 11 mission.
Armstrong was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio in 1930. He studied aerospace engineering at Purdue University but was called up to the Navy before he could finish his degree (he eventually returned and graduated in 1955).... Read More |

One of the Philadelphia Eagles all time greats passed away Thursday evening of pneumonia in Lancaster. Steve Van Buren was a member of the Eagles' 1948 and 1949 NFL championship teams. He was drafted in 1944 out of Louisiana State University and immediately made an impact. The bruising running back was the first Eagle to be inducted into the NFL Half of Fame in Canton, OH, in 1965. Chapman was sentenced in 1981 to 20 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.
