The Phillies lost in a high scoring bout last night, 11-7. The loss was nothing new, especially in Citizens Bank Park this year, where the Phils have had horrible outings this year, but the way in which the game went possibly gave fans some light at the end of the tunnel. Chase Utley returned to the lineup for the first time since game 5 of the NLDS. If that wasn't good enough, he went 3-5 with a solo home run in his first at bat. To add to the list of Utley's positives, he looked to have a... Read More

Pennsylvania taxpayers have supported convicted pedophile Jerry Sandusky’s charity, The Second Mile to the tune of $1.4 million dollars, and continue to do so. So far this year, state backed donations are over $122,000. During Sandusky’s trial, it was revealed some of Sandusky’s molestation victims came through the Second Mile foundation. Once again Dave Matthews Band delighted the capacity crowd at the Susquehanna Bank Center on Night 2 of their two day run here in "the place in New Jersey closest to Philadelphia" according the Dave himself. This show took a little longer to get going, but Philly has always been one of the band's best fan bases and they seemed comfortable with a slightly different setlist. They introduced a new song "The Riff" playing it for the first time. Dave also took center stage on piano for "Out Of My... Read More

Jerry Sandusky may be able to retain his $59,000 per year state pension for the rest of his life. Sandusky is still collecting monthly pension checks totaling $4,908.17. The state law, which governs when pensions must be forfeited by a convict, does not include any specific references to sex crimes. Instead it pertains mostly to "crimes related to public office": crimes like theft, bribery, forgery and perjury. That means Tim Curley and Gary Schultz, the Penn State administrators charged with...   by: Hailey - Collegeville, PA

Get ready for another heat wave this weekend. An excessive heat watch is in effect from Friday 12pm until Sunday 8pm. Temperatures look to be near 100 degrees on Friday, while cooling off slightly for Saturday and Sunday, which will be closer to the mid-90s. Be sure to look out for signs out of dehydration (thirst, dry mouth, dizziness, and rapid heartbeat) and to drink plenty of water. Urban areas will feel even hotter due to the larger amount of asphalt and concrete that retain heat. Read More

Central Bucks High School East teacher, Natalie Munroe, was dismissed on a 7-0 vote by the school board. The Bucks County teacher drew national attention last year with her 'anonymously' penned blog, calling her students "frightfully dim" and "utterly loathsome." She was let go for "unsatisfactory performance." Munroe was suspended in February 2011 when word of her blog began to spread. She was reinstated last summer but denied a transfer to a different school in the district. Munroe has filed... Read More
