Paul McCartney played Philadelphia on Sunday. You missed it? So did most of us. The former Beatle played a private party at the Convention Center. The two hour performance before about 1,000 people in the trucking industry was arranged by Freightliner Trucks possibly with the help of Sir Paul's wife, Nancy Shevell, an executive at New England Motor Freight. The homeless couple whose 2-year-old son was found wandering in LOVE Park on Friday night was in court this afternoon hoping to regain custody of their children. DHS took both their son and 4-year-old daughter after the incident. The family was forced to spend the night in the park after losing their home last week. A judge has signed an order directing former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky be brought to court for an appeal hearing in Centre County. Sandusky is serving 30 to 60 years in a state prison in Greene County for his 2012 conviction on more than 40 child-sex abuse charges. He's appealing claiming his trial attorney was ineffective.

A jury has found the demolition contractor, Griffin Campbell, guilty of 6 counts of involuntary manslaughter and 12 counts of reckless endangerment in the Center City building collapse that killed six people in June 2013 at 22nd and Market. Campbell was also charged with murder but was found not guilty on those counts. Panic swept through a Route 52 SEPTA bus yesterday when a young man on board accidentally let loose a pet boa constrictor (pictured). The snake, named Red slithered his way from under his owner’s jacket and into a compartment inside a seat. Amid the screams, the driver pulled over and evacuated the bus about 3 pm at 52nd Street and Westminster Avenue. The non-venomous snake was retrieved and SEPTA will decide whether or not to press charges.

A local university nursing school is helping the community stay healthy. The Widener community nursing clinic provides free or low cost medical care to needy patients in Chester. Director, Ellen Boyda says it's a great opportunity for students at nearby Widener University. She said patients have included homeless members of the community and those who can’t afford medical care. The clinic depends on volunteers for all its services.

A two-alarm fire broke out at Lulu Country Club in Glenside, Montgomery County Sunday morning. Fire crews were called around 6:30 a.m. to the 1600 block of Limekiln Pike near Jenkintown Road. A 2-year-old boy was found wandering alone and barefoot in LOVE Park in Center City overnight Friday night. A pedestrian saw the boy in the park and flagged down a SEPTA transit officer around 11:50 pm. He was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for evaluation.
