An 8-inch water main broke shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday morning forcing residents of a dozen homes to leave their houses. It happened on the 3000 block of Tulip Street in Port Richmond. In addition, around 100 homes lost water service for hours. Several homes had to have their basements pumped out by the Philadelphia Water Department. Officials say a cab driver was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be rescued after two cars collided early Friday morning in West Philadelphia. This happened just before 3:30 a.m. at 63rd and Chestnut Streets. The cab driver was trapped for about 20 minutes and had to be cut out from the car. He was taken to Presbyterian Hospital with fractured arms and is in stable condition. The driver of the other vehicle has been arrested on DUI. He reportedly suffered minor injuries from the air... Yesterday's fatal stabbing at a meat processing plant in Montgomery County apparently started as a relatively harmless prank earlier this week. On Tuesday, the victim, 25-year-old Danny Vazquez, tried to pull a chair out from under the suspect, 32-year-old Peter Jok Atem. The victims in an early morning bar stabbing in West Mount Airy have been identified as members of rapper Nicki Minaj's tour team. The incident happened after 2:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Che Bar & Grill on the 6300 block of Stenton Avenue near Johnson Street in Philadelphia.
