Fire officials are still working to determine the cause of the fire that killed four kids and displaced dozens in Southwest Philadelphia over the weekend. On Monday, firefighters and the Red Cross returned to the neighborhood for a safety blitz. It was a door-to-door effort for firefighters and Red Cross volunteers on the 6500 block of Genser Street. Several houses in Philadelphia's Cobbs Creek neighborhood have collapsed today. It happened just before 12 noon near 60th and Spruce Streets. The roofs of two homes collapsed, crushing the second floors and weighing down on the first buckling the porches out over the front steps. Neighboring homes also sustained damage. Smoke detectors had been installed last year in the Southwest Philadelphia row home on Gesner Street that burned last week killing four young children. The fast moving blaze damaged at least 10 residences. Investigators are still trying to determine the cause. One witness claimed he saw a couch on a porch on fire and saw the flames spread to other homes. Donations of clothing and supplies for the displaced families are being accepted at Christ International Baptist Church.

A Felton man has been arrested after police say he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend then ran into the woods, leading officers on a nearly four hour long search. Saturday afternoon police received a 911 call from a 39-year-old woman reporting her boyfriend, Steven Tribbett, 29, assaulted her by pushing her down and placing his knee across her neck, cutting off her airway. Arthur has strengthened into a hurricane. The first hurricane of the 2014 season is making its way up the east coast with winds over 75 miles per hour. The eye of the storm is expected to pass Kitty Hawk North Carolina tomorrow morning and pass Jersey beaches offshore about 8 pm Friday. As a Category 1 hurricane, Arthur will bring heavy rain, high winds and dangerous rip currents.

Legislation allowing Philadelphia to impose a sales tax on cigarettes to help fund public schools there has cleared its most difficult hurdle. The state House of Representatives voted 119-80 on Wednesday night to send the bill back to the Senate, which approved a similar version earlier this week. Philadelphia officials say that imposing a $2 per-pack city tax on cigarette sales will help fill a crippling schools budget deficit.

The tour buses of two popular classic rock bands were damaged in a fire this afternoon at a parking facility in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia. The fire broke out at a bus parking lot at 2nd and Callowhill St. around 12:20pm Wednesday afternoon. The bus belonging to rock band Styx caught fire and the rear was engulfed in flames. The first named Atlantic storm of the summer, Arthur is strengthening off the coast of Florida and creeping our way. The tropical storm has wind speeds of 60 mph and is expected to strengthen to a Category 1 hurricane overnight Thursday as it passes the Carolinas. Arthur is predicted to stay east of the Jersey shore bringing strong winds and heavy surf on Friday, the 4th of July.

At least 12 people are hospitalized, two of them critically injured, following a food truck explosion in Philadelphia's Feltonville neighborhood. The incident was reported around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at 3rd and Wyoming. It was a quick and violent blast caught on tape. Startled and stunned, eyewitnesses say the explosion sent parts of the truck and a propane tank flying across the street - burning a passing car, and starting a minor fire.
