2 Dead in Shoot Out at Salem Motor Lodge; Get It In Before Prison; Attempted Pine-Sol Poisoning

Two men were killed and another critically wounded in a shoot out at a South Jersey motel on Thursday night, 1/2. It happened around 8 p.m. at the Salem Motor Lodge in Salem. Police responded to reports of gunfire. They discovered 28-year-old Isa Hallman in a room suffering from gun shot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A Bucks County man is under arrest after he beat and raped a woman he held captive in his home on New Year's Day. 48-year-old Curtis Fish is charged with rape, kidnapping to inflict injury or terror, aggregated assault, and related charges. The woman was able to escape out a window and call police around 8 p.m. Wednesday, 1/1. Authorities then responded to the home on the 2000 block of Hilltown Pike in Hilltown Township. 356 Homicides in 2019, 2020 Starts With Three; Roxborough Car Arson; Froggy Carr DQd for Blackface

Philadelphia ended 2019 with 356 homicides. That is the most in the city since 2007 which saw 391 people killed. Three people were shot and killed on New Year's Eve to bring the total above the 353 deaths in 2018. Philadelphia's new police commissioner, Danielle Outlaw, was introduced on Monday, 12/30. She is expected to start February 10th.

Mayor Jim Kenney announced on Monday, 12/30, that he has appointed Police Chief Danielle Outlaw, of Portland, Oregon, the next police commissioner of Philadelphia. Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a vehicle after several shots were fired into the home of an elderly couple in Lehigh County early Saturday morning, 12/28. It happened before 2:30 a.m. on the 6200 block of Clover Lane in Lower Macungie Township. Several bullets made it inside the first floor of the house. One man is dead after a fiery crash in Roxborough on Friday morning, 12/27. It happened around 9:10 a.m. near the intersection of Henry Avenue and Dupont Street. A 62-year-old man was traveling southbound on Henry Ave in a Chevy Malibu when he hit a Hyundai Tuscon that was stopped at a red-light at the intersection.
