Comcast is making an effort to satisfy its customers. The cable provider says it will hire 5,500 additional customer-service workers in the United States and hundreds of new service technicians, as part of a broad plan to improve its poorly rated service operations. The company has been bashed nationwide by cable and Internet subscribers as unresponsive and rude. CEO Brian Roberts says that the customer backlash has served as a "rallying cry to rethink how we do business."

Bricks rained down on a local street when the front of a house collapsed overnight. The row home on the 1400 block of Bouvier Street in Point Breeze was vacant at the time, already in danger of collapsing. Singer Miley Cyrus announced the launch of her Happy Hippie Foundation on Tuesday. The 501c3 nonprofit organization was created to "rally young people to fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBT youth and other vulnerable populations." Two mothers are facing charges after Philadelphia Police had to rescue two toddlers from a roof in the city's Frankford section. Officers responded to the three-story home on the 4700 block of Leiper Street at about 1:30 p.m. Monday after neighbors called about a child on the roof. Chris Christie entered not guilty pleas Monday after they were charged for their alleged involvement in politically motivated lane closures of the George Washington Bridge in 2013. Kanye West had previously announced that the follow-up album to 2013's Yeezus would be named So Help Me God. Well, on Saturday he tweeted that he has changed his mind and will now be calling it SWISH. West also tweeted: "It may change again. But that's the name now." Three women were found dead after a fire in West Caln Township in Chester County this afternoon. It happened shortly after 12 noon on the 300 block of Hill Road. Two adults and two children escaped the blaze in the double wide trailer home. The house was completely destroyed by the flames. All seven people in the home were family members. Investigators have not determined the cause of the fire but they do not consider it suspicious. The names of the victims have not been released.Read More |
