Fire crews in Bucks County battled a fire at a popular restaurant early this morning. The blaze started at around 6:30 at Nifty Fifty’s on Street Road in Bensalem. The eatery was open at the time but everyone was able to get out before the building became engulfed. Despite the early hours, the region's heat wave was a factor on the firefighters. Delaware County Police are looking for a gunman who opened fire on a group of children last night. Three were wounded including an 11 year old girl and 10 year old boy. The incident happened last night at about 11:30 on Beverly Avenue in East Lansdowne. Witnesses say a man was hiding in nearby bushes and fired 8 or 9 shots at the group of kids crossing the street. No suspect or motive is known at this time.

On Friday July 12th the Philadelphia Songwriters Project brought their talented performers to the Granite Run Mall for a free concert. The project is a decade old and provides local songwriters a platform to perform their creations.

The Excessive Heat Warning continues across our area through Saturday night. The heat index was well over 100 today. Three roofers in Delaware County, PA, had to be taken to the hospital today and treated for heatstroke. They were laying tar on the roof of Chichester Middle School when one of them collapsed. Traffic was shut down in both directions on the Atlantic City Expressway yesterday evening after a minivan overturned ejecting its passengers on the roadway. The accident happened in the westbound lane in Winslow Township. Ten passengers in the van were treated at Cooper University Hospital, six of them children.
