Street Trolley Collision, Dangerous Rip Currents, US Constitution Celebrates 225 Years

An SUV collided with a street trolley on Girard Avenue in Kensington early this morning, knocking the trolley off its tracks. The vehicle rear ended the trolley at a high rate of speed near 6th and Girard. Two passengers in the SUV fled the scene. The driver is in stable condition at Hahnemann University Hospital.

A man in his 20's is dead after police say he lost control of his vehicle and hit a parked car while driving on Essington Avenue in Philadelphia Sunday morning. Police believe the man was driving at a high speed and say he hit several other vehicles before he crashed. No other cars were said to be involved in the crash.

Plymouth Township Cop Killed, Nutter's Trip to DNC Questioned, Traffic Court Judge Indicted

A Plymouth Township police officer was shot and killed last night after responding to a hit-and-run crash. K-9 Officer Brad Fox and his dog, Nick pursued the suspect and in a confrontation both Fox and his K-9 were shot. Fox was stuck in the head and was killed. The K-9, Nick survived. The hit and run suspect was also shot and killed.

Plymouth Township Police Officer Killed, Camden County Police Search For Robber Dressed As Woman

A Plymouth Township police officer was shot and killed Thursday evening responding to a hit and run crash in Montgomery County.
K-9 Officer Brad Fox was pursuing a hit and run suspect which led to a violent confrontation between the two. The officer was shot in the head. Officer Fox's K-9, Nick, was also shot but survived and is fine.

The suspect was killed, but authorities would not disclose how he died or the circumstances that led to Thursday’s violence.Read More

A settlement has been reached in a nearly year long discrimination case between an HIV positive Delaware County boy and the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Under the settlement, the school pays $700,000 to the boy and his mother. Also, $15,000 in penalties imposed by the U.S Department of Justice. The 14-year-old boy tried to enroll in the Milton Hershey boarding school. They discontinued his application because he has HIV.

Lukoil stations in PA and NJ raise prices in protest; Joe Frazier to receive statue in South Philly

More than 50 Lukoil gas stations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania raised the prices of gas to more that $8 a gallon today in a protest over unfair distributor pricing practices. The station owners are at odds with Lukoil North America. The protest is to raise consumer awareness about the challenges that Lukoil owners face in competing with other stations. Franchisees have to pay more for fuel than their competitors, with others selling gas for less than they pay from the distributor.

A Philadelphia SWAT police officer was hospitalized this morning after he was shot Tuesday night in Fairmount during a traffic stop at a gas station. Officer Jose Roman was wearing his bullet proof vest and was struck by a fellow officer's gunfire.

Two Philadelphia police officers have been arrested and charged with Theft of Services from three Philadelphia utility companies.
Philadelphia Police Lieutenant Aisha Perry and Police Officer George Suarez were arrested on Tuesday after an investigation by the Department’s Internal Affairs Bureau and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office showed that the two had been stealing service from PGW, PECO and PWD.
