Police have arrested a cleaning woman who was accused of stealing a rare bust of Benjamin Franklin back in August. Andrea Lawton, 46, of Philadelphia was briefly employed in the Bryn Mawr home of a private historic artifact collector. The portrait bust dates to 1778 and was made when Franklin was visiting Paris. A Philadelphia man is being investigated for suspected involvement with war crimes in Germany. The Associated Press reported that 87 year old Johann Breyer was a guard at Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II. Breyer claims he was stationed outside the camp and had no part in the slaughter of Jews at the prison.

The 15-year-old being held in the shooting of two other teenagers midday on Wednesday on a crowded Broad Street Subway platform and train is being charged as an adult with attempted murder. It was announced that Darryl Lanier will also be charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, burglary, trespassing and gun possession. Bail was set at $2 million. Last night, the skies over the Benjamin Franklin Parkway were crisscrossed by 24 beams of light responding to hundreds of recorded voice messages. "Open Air" is an interactive light exhibit that will take place nightly through mid-October. The light show can be seen for 10 miles around the city. A water main break in the Northeast will be causing serious traffic headaches for commuters, this morning. The inner southbound lanes of the Roosevelt Boulevard are closed while crews try to repair the break. The 12 inch water main on Woodward Street broke overnight and the water department expects the repair to take a long time. In the meantime, Woodward Street is closed and police have detours in place throughout the area.

The shooter sought by police in Wednesday's SEPTA Broad Street Subway shooting was turned into police Thursday afternoon by his parents. The 15-year-old will face charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and other crimes. Governor Tom Corbett was in Philadelphia for a Town Hall meeting yesterday at the Museum of Art. The meeting was scheduled to last 90 minutes but was cut short due to frequent interruptions from protesters yelling from the audience.
