A portion of the Delaware river in Philadelphia turned green Tuesday. Dr. Chris Crocket of the Philadelphia Water Department said it was a perfectly safe fluorescent compound used for surface and groundwater studies. The green plume extended from Susquehanna to Washington Avenue for a few hours on Tuesday. They're laying the groundwork for a detailed computer model that will allow the city to find ways to improve water quality and keep a closer eye on the salt line.

The body of a woman was found this morning in Pennypack Park in Northeast Philadelphia. The woman, identified as 46-year-old Connie McClain-Murray, was discovered just after 6 a.m. by a cemetery worker near the Crispin Rec Center at Holme and Convent avenues in the Holme Circle section. There apparently are no obvious signs of trauma but city detectives are investigating the case as a possible homicide. The cause of death is unknown pending an autopsy. There were 34 drug overdoses and 42 arrests at a concert in Seaside Heights this weekend. The two day Electric Adventure Beach weekend featured EDM, Electronic Dance Music Saturday and Sunday. None of the overdoses resulted in death. Prior to this year the event had been held at Great Adventure.

Philadelphia police say a suspect wanted for his alleged role in a shooting that claimed the life of a three-year-old girl late last week was taken into custody Monday night. Police say Brandon Ruffin of South Philadelphia was arrested by the Homicide Unit Monday night. Ruffin was wanted by the city's Homicide Unit for his alleged involvement in a shooting that killed three-year-old Tynirah Borum and injured three others.

Philadelphia Police have released the identity of the man they believe was the gunman in Friday night's shooting that killed an innocent 3-year-old girl and injured 3 adults in Grays Ferry. Police are looking for 22-year-old Brandon Ruffin whose last known address was on the 2300 block of Wharton Street. Funerals for the three children killed in a carjacking were held this morning at Seventh-Day Adventist church on Oxford Avenue. Keiearra Williams, Joseph Reed, and Terrance Moore were struck and killed by an out of control carjacked vehicle in North Philadelphia on July 25th. Their mother who one of three others injured, remains hospitalized.

Two 17-year-old boys have been charged with breaking into a Pennsylvania home and baking drug-laced brownies. Police say the burglary happened late July 22 in Perkiomen Township, though the department only recently publicized it. Police say the boys were found with drug paraphernalia and more than 2 pounds of the unspecified drug used to make the brownies.
