A cruise ship returned to New Jersey after a shortened trip to the Caribbean thanks to a sickness that struck 700 passengers and crew. The Explorer of the Seas had over 3,000 on board when passengers started getting sick. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suspect norovirus, but results of tests are not expected until next week.

A pre-school student in central New Jersey was left alone on a bus for nearly five hours - in Tuesday's frigid temperatures. In a statement, Superintendent Edward Seto of Franklin Township Public Schools says a bus driver did not drop off one of their pre-school students at school Tuesday morning in Somerset. A man from Collingdale, Delaware County, is under arrest and charged with embezzling nearly $3 million from his employer. 45-year-old James Bryan of the 800 block of Spruce Street worked for Wescott Electric, in Aston, PA, for 26 years and was also a member of the Collingdale Borough Council for 20 years. The final round of hearings for Philadelphia's second casino license began Tuesday. Gaming Control Board Spokesman Doug Harbach says it is conceivable the board would elect not to license a second casino in Philadelphia. He also says it could deadlock, since the license is awarded not by a simple majority of the seven-member board: the law requires all four legislative appointees, plus one of the governor's appointees, to agree on who gets the license.

Today, a Philadelphia man admitted that he illegally enrolled his daughter in a suburban Montgomery County school district. Hamlet Garcia had been charged with felony theft of services but plead guilty to a summery offense of the school code as part of a deal.
