Delaware State Police say a search is underway for an attempted murder suspect in Newark. Marquel May is wanted by the Cecil County Sheriff's Office for attempted murder. State police say the search was initiated around 4:15 p.m. when members of the Cecil County Drug Task Force attempted to stop a vehicle on Old Baltimore Pike in the area of South College Avenue, and May fled from the vehicle.

The United States Capitol was placed on lockdown this afternoon after a woman rammed her car into a White House gate, then was chased by Secret Service and exchanged gunfire with police. The woman was shot and killed and one Capitol Police officer was injured. It all started at around 2 pm when she attempted to drive her car through the White House gate near 15th St. and E. Montgomery County is appealing the order that bans gay marriage. Democratic officials are taking the ban on same sex marriage licenses to the State Supreme Court. Montgomery County had issued 174 licenses to same sex couples prior to the ban.

A private security guard hired to monitor Penn Wood High School’s Green Avenue campus has been arrested for stealing $15,000 in musical instruments from the school. 54-year-old Cory Thompson of Philadelphia turned himself in yesterday and was arraigned in Upper Darby court today. The man shot at Love Park yesterday has died. Police also revealed he was not a tourist taking pictures as early reports indicated. The 38 year old victim who was fired at eight times was a known drug dealer with a record of arrests on drug and gun charges. The shooting remains under investigation.

Police say a 12-year-old girl is in serious condition after a car ran into the side of a Port Richmond home. The driver traveling at a high rate of speed swerved and ran into the side of a home at 2000 block of E. Somerset Street. Investigators say the girl suffered abdominal injuries and was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital. She is listed in serious condition.

Authorities say there is no problem at a Pennsylvania nuclear power plant after the sirens went off briefly. The sirens sounded at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station on the Susquehanna River Tuesday morning in York County. Investigators say an unidentified pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday night in Port Richmond at the 3500 block of Aramingo Avenue. Philadelphia Police say a man in his 50's was struck by a female driving northbound on Aramingo Avenue. Investigators say the driver stopped at the scene. The victim was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
