Dr. Mehmet Oz annouced on Tuesday, 11/30, that he is running for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania. He will be running in the primary as a Republican. The seat was left wide open after Senator Pat Toomey announced he would not be seeking another term in the 2022 elections. Numerous candidates have announced their own campaigns on both sides. A Temple University student was shot and killed on Sunday afternoon, 11/28, near his off-campus residence just after returning home from the Thanksgiving break. 21-year-old Samuel Sean Collington of Prospect Park, Delaware County, was shot twice in the chest. He was taken to Temple University Hospital when he was prounced dead. It happened around 1:30 p.m. on the 2200 block of N. Park Avenue. Cacia's Bakery in South Philadelphia continued its Thanksgiving tradition this morning. The bakery opens its oven, usually used for breads and pastries, to the community each year to bake their Thanksgiving turkeys. People start lining up before dawn on West Ritner Street with their birds all prepared and wrapped in roasting pans. A South Jersey man wanted for killing his daughter and assaulting his wife was found dead in a wooded area on Tuesday morning, 11/23. 57-year-old Gregory Kelemen was discovered around 11:30 a.m. near the 300 block of Preston Avenue in Voorhees. A New Jersey man accused of being the ringleader in a $400,000 GoFundMe scam involving his girlfriend and a homeless man pled guilty in federal court on Monday, 11/12. 42-year-old Mark D'Amico pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Katelyn McClure and Johnny Bobbitt Jr. previously pleaded guilty to state and federal charges. A Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court Judge ruled on Tuesday, 11/16, that the stay on the court's ruling on the statewide K-12 mask mandate should be lifted. Judge Christine Fizzano Cannon said the masking order must expire by December 4.
