The Jersey shore may catch a little break in the weather tomorrow. The Nor'easter threatening the coastline could possibly weaken a bit. The storm, headed this way from Florida may veer further offshore than earlier predicted. What that means is less wind and rain, however gusts may still reach 50 miles per hour at the shore tomorrow afternoon. For Philadelphia and the I-95 corridor, a mix of rain and snow is possible.

Election Day has been busy around the Philadelphia region... Read More

A Nor'easter is forming now and will intensify off the Jersey coastline overnight. This classic, winter-like storm will impact on Wednesday with significant coastal flooding, strong winds and storm surge. Storm force winds up to 65 miles per hour are likely. This Nor'easter will batter an already beaten coastline where many towns have been left defenseless by Superstorm Sandy. In Philadelphia there is a High Wind Watch from Wed am to Thurs am. We can expect heavy rain and even some mixing of... Read More

It's Election Day, finally! Time to get out and vote right? But where are you supposed to go? Your local polling place might not be so easy to find. You just can't go to any polling place, you must go to the one you are registered. You also have to be registered in order to vote. The deadlines for registration were weeks ago, so if haven't registered yet then you are out of luck.

New Jersey has had to change some of it's normal Election Day operations. In order to learn your... Read More

Philadelphia Water Issue and Ballot Questions, LBI Opens Today, Romney Rallies Yardley

  by: Rebel - Havertown, PA
started: 11/05/12 9:53 am | updated: 11/05/12 9:53 am

Voters in Philadelphia tomorrow will face four ballot questions, one of which proposes changing one of the oddities of the 60-year-old Philadelphia Home Rule charter. At issue: whether the water commissioner should have the final say on rate hikes. The city charter approved in the 1950s has the water commissioner proposing rate hikes, and then, after a series of public hearings, the commissioner approves the rate hikes. The Nutter administration says a rate-setting commission would only... Read More

Reading Phillies will change their name after 46 years.

  by: iradioal - Philadelphia, PA
started: 11/05/12 3:52 am | updated: 11/05/12 3:53 am

The Philadelphia Phillies' Double-A minor league affiliate Reading Phillies had announced last week that they had started to undergo a rebranding process that would at the very least change the look of the team. It sounded like a uniform and logo redesign. Since 1967, the Reading Phillies have always had a uniform that mirrored the Philadelphia major league team with red pinstripes and hats with a script "R" instead of "P".

Today, the club announced that this rebranding process... Read More

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy the area is slowly recovering and getting back on it's feet. Cleanup efforts have begun all around Philadelphia and Pennsylvania, mostly dealing with hundreds of downed trees and wires. Most residents down the Jersey Shore just got access to return to see the extent of the damage to their residences and are shocked by the sight of their homes. There is a long road ahead for the shore towns where the streets are full of feet of sand like a giant snow storm that... Read More
