The African American Cultural and Arts Center and Museum in Camden held its 10th annual Kwanzaa Celebration on Monday afternoon to mark the first of the seven principles of the holiday.
It included music, an acknowledgment of the elders, a sign of respect to those that have died, and a candle lighting ceremony in which the black candle is lit symbolizing the first principle of Kwanzaa which is unity.

A law imposing new restrictions on teen drivers in Pennsylvania goes into effect Tuesday December 27. Lacey's Law is named after Lacey Gallagher who died in the spring of 2007 while riding in a crowded SUV when the vehicle lost control on the PA turnkpike.
New provisions include increasing the behind-the-wheel training for young drivers by 15 hours.

Philly hip hop band, The Roots released their 13th album this month titled Undun, and it's their first concept album.
Undun narrates the story of a bootstrapping hustler in reverse, from death to birth.
The group has also released a short film to coincide with the album, directed by Clifton Bell and telling the story of a young man named Redford Stephens who chooses a life of crime which some call an impressive pictorial story.

A sixth person has come out alleging sexual abuse as a child at the hands of Daily News sports writer, Bill Conlin.
The Inquirer broke the original story Tuesday, reporting that three women and a man said that Conlin had abused them when they were children in the 1970s.
Prosecutors in Gloucester County, where some of the alleged abuse occurred, could not bring criminal charges because assaults before 1996 fall outside the statute of limitations.

With Christmas on Sunday this year, businesses are giving workers other days off. But which day varies.
The city of Philadelphia is taking Monday as its Christmas holiday, which is especially important if your trash pickup would normally be that day. It’ll be Tuesday instead, and collection all week will be one day late.
Most firms do the same thing, close the day after the Sunday holiday.

The Philadelphia woman who made international headlines when she was arrested in Bensalem two years ago for allegedly offering sex to an undercover cop in exchange for Phillies' World Series tickets has had her attempted prostitution conviction overturned.
Her lawyer says "You can't have 'attempt' in a prostitution case - it's either a straight-up guilty or not guilty on prostitution."

The Philadelphia Eagles are still alive. Sitting at a record of 6 - 8, they still have a shot at the playoffs. Winning their last two regular season games, and many other scenario combinations are keeping them in the playoff hunt.

Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Ronald Castille today announced a major shakeup in the wake of what he says is corruption and ticket-fixing at Philadelphia Traffic Court.
He has appointed Common Pleas Judge Gary Glazer, a former federal prosecutor of corruption cases, to take control of Traffic Court and oversee reforms.
Glazer said the reform will be a real one and is stepping in to restore public confidence in the traffic court.
