Haverford School Headmaster Reinstated, Pay What You Can Cafe, Bill Passed Regarding Toll Violators

The Haverford School's headmaster, Dr. John Nagl, will now be getting his job back starting this Friday. Nagl was put on leave two weeks ago after he was arrested and charged with simple assault during an altercation with his son over marijuana. Delaware County's District Attorney has gotten rid of Nagl's simple assault charge, stating there was not enough evidence. Dr. Nagl released a statement stating that he vows to "personally reflect on how I can grow as a father and a leader."Read More

As the Transportation Workers Union and SEPTA continue their meetings throughout the week to prevent a looming SEPTA strike, SEPTA has now released a contingency plan for the city. Authorities say that a man and a woman who were wanted for a shooting that happened in Delaware, were shot and killed at a hotel in Elkton, Maryland, after a confrontation with police. The victims have been identified as 25-year-old Brandon Jones and 25-year-old Chelsea Porter who were both from Dover, Delaware. Police are now searching for a man who is responsible for stealing a woman's car that had her child still in it on Monday night. The incident happened around 9 pm on the 6400 block of Frankford Avenue in Mayfair. The woman had gotten out of her car to use the ATM, leaving her car on and her 6-year-old son in the back seat. The Wordsworth Academy in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia announced Monday that it is now shutting down its Residential Treatment Program after a teen died when he got into an altercation with staff members. The incident took place on Thursday October 13th. The faculty started searching the teen's room which led to an altercation between staff members and the teen. Investigators say that the incidents began when a message was sent out to the group of teens to meet at Temple's Pearl Theater. A car crash that turned into a fiery blaze occurred in West Philadelphia on Sunday morning. The crash happened at 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of 53rd and Chestnut Street. Police say that a car was traveling down Chestnut street when it collided with another car causing it to crash into a utility pole. The car then caught fire, consuming the car and the entire pole. The union that represents Pennsylvania professors from 14 different PA Universities has now ended their strike after 3 days. The teachers have now reached a tentative contract agreement that met the demands of the union for their salaries and benefits. Teachers and other staff walked out on Wednesday after their union turned down a contract from the universities. Police have now arrested a man who has been accused of 15 burglaries that have happened in Chester and Montgomery Counties. The suspect is James Murray who police say has been robbing homes since July. After he was involved in a failed robbery, Police started to keep an eye on Murray. Police caught him robbing a neighbor's house in Limerick, and took him into custody. Murray is currently behind bars in Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

A judge has throw out 4 of the 22 counts in ex-congressman Chaka Fattah's case of corruption. Fattah has been cleared of 4 bank and mail fraud counts in his case after post trial defense motions. The most serious conviction on racketeering remains. Fattah was convicted back in June for being involved in creating several fraud plans to raise money for his campaign, as well as for his personal use.
