Surgeons at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia have successfully separated 8 month old twin girls who were joined at the lower chest and abdomen. The seven hour procedure separated Allison and Amelia Tucker of New York. CHOP lead surgeon Holly Hedrick said the surgery was successful and the babies should grow to live healthy independent lives.

Lady Gaga will donate $1 million to the Red Cross to help the victims of Superstorm Sandy. Gaga is from New York and blogged that she would not be the person or artist she is today if it were not for places like the Lower Eastside, Harlem, the Bronx and Brooklyn. Lady Gaga wrote, "Thank you for helping me build my spirit. I will now help rebuild yours."

President Obama has won four more years in the White House. The Presidential election was a virtual dead heat all night with Mitt Romney leading most of the way in the popular vote. However, Obama won the Electoral College votes needed for re-election. The Jersey shore may catch a little break in the weather tomorrow. The Nor'easter threatening the coastline could possibly weaken a bit. The storm, headed this way from Florida may veer further offshore than earlier predicted. What that means is less wind and rain, however gusts may still reach 50 miles per hour at the shore tomorrow afternoon. For Philadelphia and the I-95 corridor, a mix of rain and snow is possible.

The National Weather Service is now saying the Nor'easter coming up the coast is intensifying. On Wednesday, significant coastal flooding, strong winds and more storm surge are likely. As the storm strengthens, storm force winds of 55 to 65 miles per hour are likely. This Nor'easter will have greater impact than usual because of the recent impact from Superstorm Sandy.

Long Beach Island opened today to some residents for the first time since Hurricane Sandy. Cars started lining up on Route 72 at 4 am. Residents are permitted back on LBI from 7 am to 3 pm except in Holgate and North Beach because of unsafe conditions in those towns. There'll be no access at the Route 72 check point after 12pm. Former Penn State administrators, Gary Schultz and Tim Curley appeared in court today and were arraigned on new charges in the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse case. The men are accused hushing up child sex abuse allegations against Sandusky. Charges include endangering the welfare of children, obstruction and conspiracy.
