Garrett Reid had 19 vials of steroids in his room at Lehigh University the day he died. That’s the word from Northampton County DA, John Morganelli. Coach Andy Reid’s son, Garrett was a volunteer on the Eagles’ strength and conditioning staff. The vials contained several types of steroids typically used by body-builders. The DA says there is no evidence Reid was giving steroids to anyone and they have not determined the source of the steroids or the heroin that killed Reid.

Tiny Caskets in Newtown, Final Tanker Car Removed, Camden’s Homicide Record

The procession of tiny caskets began today in Newtown, Connecticut beginning a week of funerals for the children killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Six year olds Noah Pozner and Jack Pinto are being buried today. Police say the shooter carried enough ammunition to kill almost everyone in the school. However he took his own life when police arrived.

Police released the photos of the two brother suspected in the shooting on a SEPTA train. The incident happened after the 76ers-Bulls game on the Market Frankford El Train. An argument started on the train and after the boys left the train, one pulled a gun and fired into the train, hitting two victims.

One of the 37 Philadelphia schools slated to close, Germantown High, is the alma mater of Comedian Bill Cosby and boxer Bernard Hopkins. Germantown was preparing for its 100 year anniversary in 2015. Instead they will prepare to close and transfer students next year. The reorganization of Elementary, Middle and High Schools has the support of Mayor Nutter and must be approved by the School Reform Commission.

37 Philadelphia schools will close. That's the word from Superintendent William R. Hite today, calling it an historic moment for the School District, and the decision was tough but necessary. The reorganization of Elementary, Middle and High Schools has the support of Mayor Nutter and must be approved by the School Reform Commission.

SEPTA Train Shooting, 121212 Concert, Meek Mill Plea to Finish Tour

Police are still searching for two teens who shot two men on SEPTA’s Market Frankford train last night. The incident started after the 76ers-Bulls game when the teens got angry over the 35 year old Bulls fan’s celebration. As the teens left the train at 46th street, one turned and fired a shot into the train hitting the victim in the stomach and another man in the leg. The shooting victim is in critical condition.

A pit-bull fighting ring has been busted in Chester County. A couple ran dog fights in their home where they were also raising their 5 children. Police arrested Shane Santiago on drug charges and upon entering his home, found the bloody dog fighting operation. Santiago and Laura Acampora are facing animal abuse and child endangerment charges.

The family of the man shot by an off duty Philadelphia police officer three years ago has been awarded $4.7 million dollars by a federal jury. The jury also found the City of Philadelphia not responsible, ruling that Officer Frank Tepper was not acting as an officer during a drunken scuffle outside a baby shower. Tepper was convicted of murder and is in prison for life.

A fire in a South Philadelphia warehouse destroyed the props of the Fralinger String Band they were planning to use on New Year’s Day at the Mummers Parade. The four alarm blaze sent one woman to the hospital and destroyed one home while affecting others. The fire is believed to have started in an illegal auto repair shop that has had previous citations.
