Multiple media reports have confirmed the passing of singer/songwriter NATALIE COLE in a LOS ANGELES hospital. TMZ reports that the 65-year-old died from congestive heart failure, but also had complications from liver disease, a kidney transplant and Hepatitis C.

A man is in custody today after accidentally shooting himself during a home invasion. Late last night two men attempted a home invasion on the 2500 block of North Bancroft Street in North Philadelphia. The two masked men broke into a home and had guns. According to the woman inside at the time, shortly after entering the home one of the men accidently shot himself in the leg. At that point, both men took off. A beloved member of the Harlem Globetrotters has died. Meadowlark Lemon, a star attraction for 25 years, died on Sunday in Scottsdale, Arizona. Philadelphia police are investigating the death of psychiatrist, Dr. Howard Baker at the Rodeway Hotel on Walnut Street in Center City this week. The 75 year old Lower Merion doctor was found dead on the floor of one of the guest rooms. He was found naked with a leather belt wrapped around his neck. A person of interest is being questioned in the case.

A SEPTA bus driver under investigation for allegedly striking a passenger last week was suspended Monday without pay. The action comes days after a video surfaced showing the driver allegedly dousing a young female passenger with water and hitting her twice in the face. The incident happened aboard a Route 57 bus about 8 a.m. Friday on Rising Sun Avenue near Duncannon Street in Olney. The incident was related to a dispute over bus fare.
