A child is dead after a fall from a window in West Philadelphia yesterday. It happened at an apartment complex in the Powelton section. A 22 month old boy was playing with his 3 year old sister while their mother was in another room. After the fall from the fifth story window, the child was rushed to Children’s Hospital and later pronounced dead.

Contractor Home Searched, Storm Damage in Delaware, McCaffrey Investigated

The home of Griffin Campbell was searched by detectives yesterday and came away with a box of evidence. Campbell is the contractor in charge of the demolition of the collapsed building in Philadelphia. His attorney says Campbell has never had an accident on a demolition job site, the excavating equipment was to be used for clean-up, not demolition, and that OSHA, the City and the Salvation Army inspected the site during demolition.

Lightning at Merion Golf Course interrupted Tiger Woods' scheduled 6:45 tee time this morning. This is the first official day of practice rounds for the U.S. Open in Haverford Township. The event is expected to draw more than 25,000 spectators a day.

Merchandise for the 2013 U.S. Open is now available at the on-site only store. The 24,000 square foot Merchandise Pavilion is at Merion Golf Course adjacent to the 16th tee. The Merch Pavilion is open to the public Thursday through Sunday before practice rounds begin when a ticket will be required to get onto the grounds.

The death toll is six in the Philadelphia building collapse. That was the word from Mayor Michael yesterday after the Salvation Army Thrift Shop building at 22nd and Market collapsed without warning. One man and five women were killed. Fourteen survivors have been pulled from the rubble. The investigation into the cause of the collapse is continuing.

Missing since April, Collingdale mom Melissa Ortiz-Rodriguez is the focus of an intensifying search. She wanted a divorce from her estranged husband, Jose Rodriguez and was planning a trip to Newark to visit friends on April 19th by bus. She never arrived, never reported for work at her new job and failed to pick up her children from school four days later. Police will be canvasing the neighborhood for clues.

Philadelphia Police are looking for a serial rapist they believe attacked four women in the Germantown area. The victims include a 15 year old and 17 year old girl. The rapist is armed and has been captured by surveillance video. Police are hoping you’ll look at the video posted here and help identify him.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced plans to merge 27 more parishes over the weekend. The announcement has many in affected Philadelphia and Delaware County parishes hoping there is a chance to save them. Philadelphia Plane Crash Into Apartment, Doomsday School Budget Approved, Official Heat Wave

A small plane that took off from the Philadelphia area yesterday crashed through the roof of an apartment in Herndon, Virginia when it ran out of fuel. The plane was headed to Manassas Regional Airport when it crashed into the living room injuring the two residents in the apartment and one passenger in the plane.
