The mastermind of the Paris attacks has been killed. That's the word from the city prosecutor's office. He was killed in a police raid on a suburban apartment building. 27-year-old Abdelhamid Abaaoud was identified based on skin samples. Thousands of shots were fired in the apartment building targeted in the chaotic and bloody raid in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis on Wednesday. Penn State officials are beefing up security at Saturday's football game and other larger events in the wake of the terror attacks in Paris. There are no known threats to the game against Michigan - the final home game for 19 Penn State seniors - but the school decided to increase security anyway. One change is that gates to Beaver Stadium will open at 10 a.m. for the noon game, 30 minutes earlier than usual. That's to give staff more time to search fans as they enter. Fans and employees... Mayors from across the country attended the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington yesterday. Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter was just one of the Mayors who talked about terrorism. In fact all acknowledged the tragedy in Paris that killed 129 people and injured 350 others. Nutter called gun violence in American cities "domestic terrorism" that is no different from international terrorism.

Cherry Hill Mall Santa Charges; Fattah Appoints Campaign Manager; Love Park Gathering for Paris

The Cherry Hill Mall has some parents venting on social media about their Santa Claus display (pictured). The colorful, elaborate North Pole village requires visitors to pay $35 to $50 to sit on Santa's lap. Kids can't even get a peek at the jolly old elf through a window. $35 gets a photo with Santa. For $50 you get video. The mall's management, Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust, says it is unique - one of only 12 Adventure to Santa attractions in the country.

With the results in from last week's general election, incumbent at-large City Councilman Dennis O'Brien is 389 votes short of keeping his seat, according to the Philadelphia Board of Elections. Although the election results won't be officially announced until Nov. 17, all machine, provisional and absentee ballots have been counted. O'Brien, a first-term Republican, has not conceded. A Philadelphia nun and Catholic school teacher was placed on administrative leave by the archdiocese today after images surfaced of her failing a roadside sobriety test. Sister Kimberly Miller, IHM, is a faculty member at Little Flower High School for Girls in Philadelphia. Joe McKeehen, of North Wales, Montgomery County, held off challenges from his final two opponents Tuesday night in Las Vegas and won the $7.68 million first prize and the World Series of Poker championship title. In what many are calling the "Ferguson Effect," violent crime is on the rise in many larger cities across the US.
