Philadelphia radio station WYSP-FM 94.1 is gone. Owner CBS has decided that the Philadelphia rock radio legend is no longer a worthwhile format to occupy the 94.1 FM frequency in the City of Brotherly Love. Arlene Ackerman may have put her payday at risk by opening her mouth on the radio and criticizing Philadelphia school officials. Her $905,000 separation agreement stipulated she would not make malicious public comments or disseminate any private information about the School Reform Commission. Yet, three days after she was out, Ackerman lambasted CFO Michael Masch on WURD-AM. Now that Hurricane Irene has left the Philadelphia region, the Monday morning quarterbacks can assess the handling of preparations by our politicians and the media. Do you think New Jersey Governor Christie, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg acted properly with evacuation orders? Or did they over-react? How about the news media? Too much Irene hype or was the... Read More
