The White House released President Obama's long form birth certificate. It shows the President was, in fact, born in the US. So is the debate over? Not likely. The political propaganda machine will continue to churn on both sides. Since it is a requirement to become a US president that you be born here, why not require all presidential candidates to provide long form birth certificates before their campaign ever starts?

Who is America's favorite mascot in all of sports? It should come as no surprise around here that the Phillie Phanatic has topped the list. Forbes magazine published the results of nationwide survey conducted by The Marketing Arm. It seems fans everywhere can't get enough of the Phillie Phanatic taunting the opposition and launching hot dogs into the stands. Second place in the poll went to the San Diego Chicken followed by the Milwaukee Brewers Racing Sausages and New York's Mr. Met. Who... Read More

The duck boats are back in the Delaware River and on the streets of Philadelphia. Ride-the-Ducks tours have been suspended in Philadelphia since July after the tragic collision on the Delaware River with a barge that resulted in the death of two Hungarian tourists. The first passenges to board the Ducks this week did not seem concerned about safety, with some reporting they felt more at risk on the highways than on the duck boats. Anchors... Read More

The city of Philadelphia is now offering free condoms to children as young as 11 years old to stem the spread of STD's. And the website, www.takecontrolphilly.org offers blunt advice for girls on how to insert condoms, such as "Figure out what position works for you. You can stand with one foot on a chair, sit on the edge of a chair, lie down, squat, or for fun, have your partner help you out." The idea of 11 year olds being... Read More

Georgia based Flowers Foods Inc. has acquired Philadelphia's Tasty Baking for an estimated 34.3 million. Known across the South for products like Nature's Own bread and Mrs. Freshley's pies, the addition of Kandy Kakes and Butterscotch Krimpets seems like logical line extension through an already established distribution pipeline. What will happen to Phiadelphia's Tastykake employees? According to Flowers, everyone keeps their job. At least for... Read More
