An East Norriton woman has been arrested and charged with creating an online fund-raising page for a friend whose husband had pancreatic cancer, but keeping the money herself. Traci Small Kratzer was charged Tuesday with theft, allegedly taking more than $8,000 by setting up a fraudulent online charity fund-raiser at YouCaring.com. A Montgomery County attorney was arrested Monday and charged with raping one of his clients. Vincent A. Cirillo Jr., a defense attorney with offices in Norristown, allegedly raped a woman whom he had been hired to represent. The alleged rape occurred on Aug. 3, officials said, and the woman reported it to West Norriton police three days later. 56 year old Cirillo, of Gladwyne, is the son of the late Superior Court Judge Vincent A. For the second time in a decade, Cheyney University has failed to properly manage financial aid that it awards students, and as a result may owe the U.S. Department of Education more than $29 million. Errors were found in nearly 85 percent of about 4,400 financial aid records reviewed from 2011 to 2014, according to a report released Thursday by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

An adult film actress and stripper has come forward with new details about embattled reality TV personality Josh Duggar, claiming that he paid her for sex after meeting her at Center City Philadelphia's Gold Club earlier this year. Danica Dillon, real name Ashley Lewis, relayed that information Wednesday to magazine, In Touch. Archaeologists doing a dig at the site of the Battle of Red Bank in Gloucester County may have uncovered a cannon that exploded in 1777 during a battle defending Fort Mercer against the British. That explosion killed 12 American regiments during the fight on October 22nd 238 years ago. Until the find is tested and verified, the heavy artillery will remain in the ground.

China's stock market fell Monday by its biggest margin in eight years, defying the government's multi-billion-dollar effort to stop a slide that has wiped out the gains of this year's price boom. The decline threatened to weigh heavily on global markets after last week's Chinese losses triggered a worldwide selloff. The Shanghai Composite Index fell 8.5 percent, its biggest one-day loss since 2007. Here in the U.S., financial markets are in a sell-off.
