Dylann Storm Roof, the alleged gunman who killed nine people during a shooting spree at Charleston church could get the death penalty. 21 year old Dylann Roof will face a judge today at 2 p.m. for a bond hearing in South Carolina. According to a friend, Roof had told him several weeks ago that black people were taking over the world and that Roof said he had a plan.

Pope Francis is coming to Philadelphia September 26th and 27th along with about 2 million visitors. Mayor Michael Nutter has some advice for anyone trying to get around Philly while the Pope is here for the World Meeting of Families. Be prepared to walk a couple of miles or more. Because of extreme heat today, Philadelphia public schools close at noon. Most city schools do not have air conditioning. Schools with graduation ceremonies planned for today have the option of remaining open for the ceremonies. Call individual schools to confirm graduation schedules.

Belmar has re-opened after too many people overcrowded the shore town prompting the mayor to close access roads to outsiders. Mayor Matt Doherty ordered closing access from Route 35 for safety reasons as beachgoers and visitors to a seafood festival created the over-crowding. Belmar was officially closed to outsiders for about four hours and re-opened at about 7 pm yesterday.

"Watch the Tram Car please." The Jersey shore town that made that phrase famous, Wildwood, wants to keep other shore towns from using it. Wildwood has sent a cease and desist letter to an Atlantic City tram car operator who is using not only the same phrase, but the actual recording that plays in the cars in Wildwood. The phrase has been used in tram cars in the Wildwoods since 1949.

There was a possible sighting of two escaped prisoners this morning at 30th Street station in Philadelphia. A cab driver reported dropping off two people who looked like David Sweat and Richard Matt who escaped maximum security Clinton Correctional Facility last week. The sighting has not been confirmed yet as police are reviewing surveillance footage.

A suburban Philadelphia mother accused of having sex with a 17-year-old soccer player has been placed on five years' probation after pleading guilty. Forty-two-year-old Iris Gibney of Pottstown told the judge that she made a "horrible decision." And has been in therapy since she was arrested in November. She was found having sex with the youth in a car at a Pottstown park. She met the teenager at a high school football game while volunteering with her daughter's cheerleading squad.

Police in Mount Laurel, New Jersey were on high alert this morning after a threat at a local middle school. Students and staff were checked before entering the building at Harrington Middle school. According to police, someone made a threat against the school around 9:00 p.m. last night. Police searched the building, but found nothing. Apparently similar threats were made at other school districts throughout New Jersey Monday evening.
