Bargain hunters hit the stores early as retailers looked to boost sales on the days after Christmas.

With retailers offering discounts of 50 to 75 percent, some stores opened at 5 a.m. Monday.(Kohls, Wal-Mart) followed by others at 6 a.m. (J.C. Penney, Toys R Us) and 7 a.m. (Macy's, Target, Sears).

John Bolaris Suspended Over Comments to Playboy

Philadelphia TV meteorologist John Bolaris has been suspended indefinitely by Fox 29 after Playboy magazine published an article about his being drugged and scammed by two women in Miami Beach in March 2010.

There is still a chance that buyers will be found for the Philadelphia-area refineries that have closed or are being closed by Sunoco and ConocoPhillips, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

"Sunoco Inc. [NYSE:SUN] and ConocoPhillips [NYSE: ] are shopping their Delaware River refineries to a small group of potential buyers who might keep them open, saving about a thousand threatened jobs," the Inquirer said. Philadelphia Franklin Mills Mall Gets a JC Penney Again

J.C. Penney will be returning to the Franklin Mills mall in Philadelphia as a full-line store.

According to the Philadelphia Business Journal, the retailer had planned to close 19 outlet stores, including its Franklin Mills location.

In March, it will open a 100,000-square-foot store in the same space, a mall spokesperson said. It will have an updated design and an assortment of professional-and-lifestyle attire for men, women and children.

The list of former players suing the NFL over brain injuries now includes a former Philadelphia Eagle.

The Philadelphia Business Journal reports: Dorsey Levens, who played with the Eagles in 2002 and 2004 and spent most of his career with the Green Bay Packers, has filed a federal lawsuit in Atlanta. The Phillies are bringing former GM Ed Wade back into the organization. Wade was fired by the Astros after last season. Ed will re-join the Philadelphia Phillies as a special consultant to the baseball operations department. During his time as GM in Philadelphia, Wade acquired players such as Jim Thome, Shane Victorino and Billy Wagner. Citizen Bank Branches Closing and Laying Off

Citizens Bank's plans to close nine Philadelphia-area branches and lay off 250 employees has been detailed in a recent filing.

Citizens said it would be consolidating a Broomall location in the Acme Supermarket at 1991 Sproul Road into a branch in the Lawrence Park Shopping Center. It will also be consolidating its Flourtown site from 1461 Bethlehem Pike into a Bethlehem Pike and East Mill Road branch.
