An accident involving two elevators injured two people at the Philadelphia Criminal Justice Center this morning. Around 10:30 a.m., a loud 'explosion' shook the 17-story building at 13th and Filbert in Center City. The CJC was evacuated as a precaution and all court cases were postponed for the day. Authorities discovered that an employee elevator suffered a structural failure and broke through the ceiling of the shaft. That sent debris falling down the adjoining shaft onto another... SEPTA announced its plans for returning cars back to service on the Regional Rail lines beginning the end of August. Starting August 21st, approximately 10 cars will be added each week. All 120 Silverline V cars should be back in service by the week of November 6th. They were taken out of service after a defect was discovered in the suspension systems. The father of a man arrested after throwing a rock at a moving Coatesville police cruiser sent a letter to the police department apologizing and praised them for their professionalism. On July 18th, Eric Watson was arrested after throwing a rock at the windshield of Officer Jared Davis' police car. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie signed a bill into law today inspired by a New Jersey high school track star and Penn student who took her own life two years ago. The Madison Holleran Suicide Prevention Act requires that NJ colleges offer students 24/7 access to mental health professionals. Two men have now been charged with the murder of a woman in Germantown on Friday. Both men have ties to the Temple University Police Department. 47-year-old Aaron Wright and 41-year-old Marquis Robinson are each charged with six criminal counts including murder, aggravated assault, conspiracy and abuse of a corpse. A hot air balloon carrying at least 16 people crashed in Central Texas on Saturday; there were no survivors. It happened around 7:40 a.m. in a pasture near Lockhart, TX, about 30 miles south of Austin. The crash site was near some high power lines. A witness heard the sound and saw a large fireball go up.
