Jazz Appreciation Month is set aside every April "to draw greater public attention to the extraordinary heritage and history of jazz and its importance as an American cultural heritage. In addition, JAM is intended to stimulate the current jazz scene and encourage people of all ages to participate in jazz". It was started in 2002 by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. This marks the second year that Philadelphia is officially joining in JAM activities.

Today crews lifted the top three sections of the statue of the Virgin Mary back on top of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden. The statue has stood atop the hospital for more than six decades but was damaged last August by the unusual earthquake felt up and down the east coast. It was brought down by crane in November when cracks were discovered. $65,000 in funds were raised to cover the insurance deductible from all across Camden. The Humane Society of the United States has released a 30-second video public service announcement featuring Michael Vick that urges viewers to report animal cruelty and fighting activities to its toll-free animal fighting tip line. Vick served jail time and nearly lost everything for his role running a brutal dog fighting ring. He now serves as a spokesman in schools around the country and in Washington in front of lawmakers. A couple from South Jersey was lucky enough to catch the eye of Country star Martini McBride. Christina Davidson and Frank Tucci from South Jersey, exchanged their vows live on stage during the award ceremony in Las Vegas. McBride and Train serenaded them with song "Marry Me." Both Davidson and Tucci are widow(er)s. Their families and friends back home and millions around the country were able to share in their big moment. They plan to have another ceremony in October.

Kevin McGuire, 18, from Somerdale, Camden County, NJ was going to be Taylor Swift's date tomorrow night at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. Kevin is battling cancer and is back in the hospital today, and won't be able to attend.

Former Phillie and Souderton, PA native, Jamie Moyer, has proven once again that he is above the odds, the definition of determination, even if he defies logic at times. At 49, Moyer spent the entire 2011 season recovering from Tommy John surgery. This past January he signed a Minor League contract with the Colorado Rockies and went into Spring Training having to win his way onto the team.

The last three suspects at large are now in police custody tonight in the murder case of Levittown musician Danny DeGennaro. All three men are from Trenton, NJ.
