Former Philadelphia Phillie Darren Daulton has been diagnosed with 2 brain tumors. He currently hosts a show on 97.5 FM which announced the news today saying that “Dutch” hasn't been feeling well the past two weeks and went to a doctor who discovered the tumors. He will have surgery early next week. Bail has been set at $1.5 million for crane operator Sean Benschop. He has been charged with involuntary manslaughter of 6 people and and 13 counts of reckless endangerment after the building collapse June 5th at the Salvation Army in Center City. Prosecutors wanted him remanded, noting he is a possible flight risk being a non-citizen. The defense said that Benschop turned himself in when issued a warrant. Police in Collingdale, Delaware County have dug up the yard of a woman who has been missing for over two months. The team of county sheriffs and police cadaver dogs spent around two hours at the residence but did not find anything. Melissa Ortiz-Rodriguez, mother of two, has been missing since April 19th when she had planned to visit friends in North Jersey and never arrived. The family says the body of a missing Gloucester Township woman was found on Monday shortly before noon. 59-year-old Carol Reiff was reported missing on Friday after her family had not heard from her since Thursday and she did not arrive at their home in Manahawkin, NJ for a planned visit. Philadelphia boxer Bernard Hopkins has won the 2013 John Wanamaker Athletic Award. The award is presented annually "to the athlete, team or organization that has done the most to reflect credit upon Philadelphia" Hopkins joins other athletes such as Julius Erving, Chuck Bednarick, Mike Schmidt, and Roy Halladay. Actor James Gandolfini, aka Tony Soprano, passes away at age 51

Actor James Gandolfini, who is best known for his role as Tony Soprano, the mob boss on the hit HBO show "The Sopranos," has passed away today while in Rome. Gandolfini portrayed Soprano for the entire run of the show from 1999-2007 and won three Emmy Awards.

He died of an apparent heart attack while on holiday in Rome. He was set to appear at the Taormina Film Fest in Sicily this week

Customs and Border Protection arrested a woman at Philadelphia International Airport for smuggling cocaine inside her shoes. 25-year-old Iveliza Tuhanna Perez arrived on a flight from Montego Bay, Jamaica yesterday at 4:30. While officers were performing a baggage examination they noticed that three pairs of cork wedge high heels were abnormally heavy and x-rays showed anomalies in the heels. The faith healing couple charged with murder in the death of their 7-month-old son have been ordered held without bail. Herbert and Catherine Schaible have been charged with third degree murder after their son died of dehydration and pneumonia. The Schaible's do not believe in modern medicine, only the power of prayer.
