Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced that all schools K-12 in the state will be closed for two weeks starting Monday, 3/16.

All Philadelphia schools will now be closed for two weeks amid the coronavirus outbreak due to staffing concerns. The School District of Philadelphia announced on Thursday night, 3/12, that 63 schools would be closed on Friday, 3/13, due to staffing shortages. The shortages were a result of fallout from the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak. Earlier in the day, Governor Tom Wolf ordered mass closings of schools, gyms, community centers, and entertainment centers in Montgomery County and urged county residents to restrict unnecessary travel. Philadelphia police have arrested and charged a man in the shooting of a 4-year-old boy on Saturday night, 3/7. 23-year-old Jerrod Miner is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and weapons charges. It happened around 8 p.m. on the 5500 block of North 4th Street in the city's Olney section. Miner was inside the home playing around a group of children when he brought out a gun.
