Penn State's annual 46-hour dance marathon simply known as THON will be rocking the Bryce Joyner Center in State College all weekend long. Around 700 Penn State students are official "dancers" that will be on the floor without a break for the entire event. There are 1000's more who lend direct support and those who will simply stop by the stands to join in the fun. A woman was found dead inside a car near 30th Street Station this morning. Police were called to S. 30th street between Market and Chestnut for a report of an unresponsive woman. They found a 22-year-old woman inside a black Nissan. She was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no apparent signs of foul play or cause of death. Authorities are continuing to investigate.

The couple from Northeast Philadelphia who believed in faith-healing over modern medicine has been sentenced in the death of their 8-month-old son who died of treatable pneumonia. Herbert and Catherine Schaible were sentenced to 3 ½ to 7 years in prison. The couple plead no contest in the death of their son Brandon last April. Ten members, including top leadership, of the Ironworkers Local Union 401 were arrested today. The US Attorney in Philadelphia released an indictment today accusing members of the union of using violence, intimidation, even arson to extort contractors to hire union ironworkers. A West Chester University student who hit a half-court shot during a halftime challenge during a game on campus Saturday night will not be getting the $10,000 prize. 18-year-old freshman Jack Lavery was picked to participate in the promotion - make four different shots in 25 seconds - during halftime against Shippensburg University. A chain reaction crash this morning on the Pennsylvania Turnpike involved around 100 cars and tractor trailers over a several mile stretch, shutting down the turnpike for most of the day. The incident happened around 8:30 this morning in the eastbound lanes between Willow Grove and Bensalem, Pa. Philadelphia-based Comcast is expected to announce Thursday that it has reached an agreement to buy Time Warner Cable for $44.2 billion in stock or around $159 per share.
Currently, Comcast has around 22 million subscribers or 21 percent of the country's pay-TV homes. The acquisition would increase that customer base to 33 million subscribers or 33 percent, solidifying Comcast's spot as the top provider of cable television services.

In anticipation of the major winter storm bearing down on our area, a snow emergency will go into effect as of 8pm on Wednesday night in the City of Philadelphia. The Phillies and Comcast announced today that two former players from the 2008 World Series Championship team will be coming back to Philadelphia. Jamie Moyer and Matt Stairs will be joining the television broadcast team of Tom McCarthy and Gregg Murphy. Moyer played 26 seasons in the Majors earning 269 wins as a pitcher.
