Pennsylvania state prosectors have refiled charges against Robert Kerns, the former Montgomery County Republican Party chairman. Kerns, 66, of North Wales, is charged with raping and sexually assaulted a female paralegal who worked at his law firm. Investigators say it happened after driving her home from an office party last October when the victim may have had too much to drink. Widener University in Delaware County was placed on alert this morning after a male shooting victim died just off campus. The alert was sent of just after 11 am by text and email warning employees and students to stay inside. The victim was shot inside his SUV at 12th Street and Melrose in Chester, PA. Police in Havertown raided the home of a local ophthalmologist on Wednesday and arrested the doctor and his daughter for growing and selling marijuana from the residence. 58-year-old Dr. Paul Ezell and his 23-year-old daughter Victoria have been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with the intent to sell a controlled substance, as well as criminal conspiracy. Gunfire erupted early this afternoon in Trenton at the funeral of a teenager killed earlier this month. Three people were shot and one person is in custody. It happened just after 12:00 pm at the Galilee Baptist Church, located in the 400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Montgomery County prosecutors have announced that they have taken down a drug ring that targeted Main Line high schools and colleges. The drug operation, named the “Main Line Takeover Project” by its members, was reportedly well orchestrated and executed. A large fire destroyed at least three homes along the beach in Sea Isle City, NJ late this afternoon. The fire started around 4:30pm at 78th Street at Pleasure Avenue on the beachside. The fire quickly engulfed the homes, spewing smoke into the air seen for many miles around. Fire crews were called from Sea isle, Avalon and Oceanview. The cause of the fire has not been determined. Arthur Blumenthal held a large Sweet 16 party for his daughter at their home on Woodruff Road in Whitemarsh Township on March 21st.
