Governor Tom Corbett has ordered an investigation by the state parole board to the find out why Rafael Jones, who is accused of shooting Officer Moses Walker, was out of the streets on August 18th to commit this crime. Jones was ordered to be placed on house arrest on July 25th and to submit to weekly drug tests. Bomb Threat at Trocadero; Shermen Hemsley Will Disputed; Made in America Schedule and Info

Last night a bomb threat was received targeting the popular Trocodero Theater at 10th and Arch in Chinatown. An anonymous, threatening email was sent to news outlets at around 5:40 pm. Police and a bomb sniffing dog searched the area and the theater but did not find anything suspicious leading authorities to believe it was a hoax. They cleared the area at 7pm. The Made in America Festival schedule has been announced for Labor Day Weekend. One notable cancelation is Chris Cornell due to a scheduling conflict. He'll be performing at an Obama fundraiser/ rally in Iowa on Saturday and can't make it to Philly for MIA on Sunday. That means no Temple of the Dog reunion with Pearl Jam.

Philadelphia rapper Beanie Sigel aka Dwight E. Grant and a friend, Gerald Andrews, were arrested earlier Wednesday morning at 3:14 am on I-95 in Tinicum Township. Andrews was driving when they were pulled over for tailgating and swerving out of their lane. A weapons check turned up some pills, a small amount of marijuana, and a bottle of codeine, plus a gun. SEPTA Has No Plans For Extra Festival Trains; Chalfont Police Shooting was a Hoax

SEPTA does not plan to run extra trains after the Parkway concerts this weekend. They will add a few extra cars to the the Regional Rail trains, but don't necessarily rely on them to get home. They'll be running on their reduced weekend schedule and that means reduced capacity and some line's last trains departing around 11 pm. The City has been telling people to take public transport, but that won't help people trying to go home to the suburbs on the rails unless they leave the concerts early.... Read More

Charges have been filed against the second suspect in the last week's murder of Officer Moses Walker Jr. Chancier McFarland, 19, was arrested in Alabama on Sunday and transported to Philadelphia on Monday. Word of McFarland's surrender to the FBI in Montgomery, AL, reached mourners on Sunday just as Officer Walker's viewing services were starting. McFarland is charged with murder, robbery, conspiracy, and violations of the Uniform Firearms Act.

Hundreds honored Police Officer Moses Walker Jr. today and yesterday during memorial services for the slain policeman at Deliverance Evangelistic Church in North Philadelphia. Yesterday a horse-drawn procession led his body to the church so that mourners from across the city could pay solemn respects. The second suspect in Officer Moses Walker Jr.'s murder is in custody. Chancier McFarland, 19, has been sought by police since Walker's murder a week ago, but he is currently in police custody in Montgomery, AL, after being on the run. His criminal partner, Rafael Jones, has been in custody since Wednesday. Jones has apparently confessed to his involvement in the early morning, August 18th murder and robbery of the off duty Police Officer. He was charged and arraigned on Friday.
