One New Jersey shore town is taking steps to address overcrowding by considering banning tents on the beach. Council members in Belmar have proposed a resolution that would ban tents and large canopies from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The practice is known as 'beach spreading' where groups of people and families stake out and take up larger plots of sand real estate using tents better suited for a tailgate. A Chester County man is under arrest after shooting his next door neighbor in West Goshen early Tuesday morning. It happened around 1 a.m. outside their homes on the 300 block of Box Elder Drive. 51-year-old Clayton Carter is charged with 1st degree murder and other charges in the shooting death of Brooks Jennings. A Burlington County woman has been arrested and charged with shooting and killing her partner in their Mount Holly home on Sunday. 28-year-old Laura Bluestein is charged with the murder of 29-year-old Felicia Dormans. The Burlington County Prosecutors Office says the two were married. It happened on the 100 block of Mill Street. Officers were called to a report of an assault. They found Dormans shot in the face. Police Commissioner Richard Ross has suspended 26-year-old James Yeager for 30 days with the intent to dismiss. He is a 4 year veteran assigned to the 24th district. An Atlantic County judge has sided with Margate, NJ, and approved an injunction to shut down sand dune construction in the shore town for a week. Following recent heavy rains, water has ponded around the new dunes. Margate officials say those pools are a safety hazard full of bacteria and have closed numerous beaches. The owner of a South Philadelphia day care facility accused of sexually assaulting two children has been released after posting bail. 53-year-old Duncan Round of Medford Lakes, NJ, posted 10% of $200,000 bail Thursday morning.
