A former Pennsylvania State Trooper has been charged with the shooting death of his pregnant wife and their baby three years ago. 36-year-old Joseph Miller was arraigned in Montgomery County court on Friday. He is charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter including his wife Joanna Miller and their 24-week-old newborn baby. It happened on March 7, 2014. Montgomery County officials are trying to find the owners of 50,000 pieces of stolen jewelry, coins, and other valuables recovered recently. They are valued at $1.5 million. The items were stolen as part of a massive theft ring that ran in the entire Philadelphia area including parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware as far back as 2013. A major winter storm is bearing down on the area. Philadelphia has declared a snow emergency starting at 9pm tonight. All cars must be removed from snow emergency routes or they will be ticketed and towed. Towing will start at 12 midnight. There will be no trash or recycling collected on Tuesday. It happened around 10:30 pm at the Gold Fish restaurant on the 2000 block of West Hunting Park Avenue in Philadelphia's Tioga-Nicetown section. A multi-car crash in Camden County has left 1 person dead and four others injured. It happened around 6:30 p.m. along White Horse Pike (Rt. 30) near Capitol Avenue in Oaklyn, NJ. Five cars were involved in the accident. Two of the vehicles hit head on. One of the vehicles burst into flames. The injured were taken to Cooper University Hospital. Rt. 30 was shut down in both directions until around 10 p.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Police were called to the Hatfield Ice Arena in Montgomery County on Thursday night after a fight broke out on the ice and extended into the stands. It happened around 10:20 p.m. at 350 County Line Road in Hatfield Township. 42-year-old Sara Packer was arraigned today in the rape, murder, and dismemberment of her 14-year-old adoptive daughter, Grace Packer, last summer. Packer pled not guilty to charges of homicide, kidnapping, abuse of corpse, conspiracy to commit rape, and other charges. Grace disappeared from her Abington home in July 2016 and was reported missing. This afternoon at City Hall, Councilman David Oh, the Chair of Council's Committee on Global Opportunities and the Creative/Innovative Economy, introduced the initial 15 members of the city's brand new Music Industry Task Force. Officials from the PA Turnpike Commission and the New Jersey Turnpike Authority announced that the Delaware River Turnpike Bridge will reopen tonight sometime after 10:30 pm. The repair work that has kept the bridge closed since the end of January has been completed about a month earlier than expected.
