Following his music video debut from last month (Welcome to the Jungle, click here), former Villanova basketball player Will Sheridan recently sat down with ESPN's Dana O'Neill, publicly coming out of the closet.
It doesn't come as much surprise that WIll is gay. Anyone in the Philadelphia area that follows Big 5 basketball probably knew. If you were a Villanova student anytime around the years that Sheridan was on campus you... Read More |

|
by: iradioal - Philadelphia, PA started: 05/17/11 10:37 pm | updated: 05/17/11 11:59 pm |

After a cold, rainy day at the polls that saw many locations have very poor voter turnout, especially in the suburbs that did not have many races of major consequence anyway, incumbent Mayor Nutter easily won over Milton Street in the Democratic Party primary for the Philadelphia Mayorial race by about 3-1.
In the GOP primary, it is still too close to call at this time (10:37pm) with Karen Brown (50.3%) holding a slight lead over John Featherman (49.7%) with 76.1% of the... Read More |

Chase Utley makes first official rehab start |
|
by: iradioal - Philadelphia, PA started: 05/11/11 12:39 am | updated: 05/11/11 12:39 am |

When will Chase Utley be back? Well, we have a much better idea on how to answer that question. After he made his first official rehab start today for the Clearwater Threshers, it opens up the 20 day window that he can make minor league rehab appearances before he has to be activated to the major league roster. Now there are some exceptions to that rule, he can take a 5 day timeout to that window, and if there are major complications he could shut it down completely. But everything is pointing... Osama Bin Laden is Dead; Where were you when you heard? |
|
by: iradioal - Philadelphia, PA started: 05/02/11 2:25 am | updated: 05/02/11 2:25 am |

It is always the question that we are asked about an important date or event. Where were you, what were you doing, how did you find out etc. ? Today, President Obama told us that a team of special forces conducted a raid on a compound in Pakistan and that Osama Bin Laden had been killed during the fire fight. This is the man we have been hunting for 10 years, one who is responsible for the Sept. 11th attacks and numerous others previous, head of the al Qaeda terrorist group. It seems so easy in... |
by: iradioal - Philadelphia, PA started: 04/29/11 6:18 pm | updated: 04/29/11 6:18 pm |

Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs are set to drop at center ice tomorrow at 3:00pm at the Wells Fargo Center, with the Philadelphia Flyers taking on the Boston Bruins in a rematch from last year's incredible series in which the Flyers overcame a 3-0 deficit to win the series. This is a new year though, and the slate is clean. Both teams have just moved on from 7 game opening series' and the team that can play the strongest will probably have the most success.
Boston and... Read More |

Record Store Day in Philadelphia, Saturday April 16th |

There's nothing like the feeling you get when you've just picked up some new music that you haven't heard yet. A certain level of anticipation as you unwrap the plastic from that CD, tape, record and pull it out of it's case/cover. Put it into the player, lay down the needle, or cue up the track. Then you hit play and the sounds come through the speakers for the first time. It's a reward, this took some effort to obtain. It wasn't a point and click download. You had to go somewhere, walk around... Read More |

Former Villanova Forward, Will Sheridan, Releases Music Video |

I've always liked the NCAA commercials that say how there are 400,000 student-athletes and most will be professional in something other than sports. As a former NCAA athlete myself, I'm obviously not making a living as a professional cross country runner. Most college sports don't have pro leagues that can even offer the chance at a career or only pay enough to the top few. Basketball is one that does pay very well, and for a lot of talent coming out of college there is very good money to be... Read More |

Phillies, Sixers, Flyers, oh my... Fall fans don't get me wrong, I love Eagles football, and October baseball especially, but you can't beat this April for non-stop Philadelphia sports almost every day/night of the week. This year we have the Phils off to a predicted great start. The young Sixers are headed back to the playoffs lead by coach of the year candidate Doug Collins. Plus, the Flyers won the division and are hoping to go back to the Stanley Cup finals and finish last year's... Read More |
