In the wake of Hurricane Sandy the area is slowly recovering and getting back on it's feet. Cleanup efforts have begun all around Philadelphia and Pennsylvania, mostly dealing with hundreds of downed trees and wires. Most residents down the Jersey Shore just got access to return to see the extent of the damage to their residences and are shocked by the sight of their homes. The North Philly-born rapper ended up being late for his own party Wednesday night in Philadelphia. Meek Mill was detained by Philly police sometime around 8 pm after a vehicle he was in was stopped by officers around 11th and Girard.

Governor Christie has announced that Atlantic City casinos will reopen and begin gaming at a 10 a.m. new conferenceFriday. They were shutdown on Sunday at 3 p.m. in advance of Hurricane Sandy. A formal announcement from Mayor Lorenzo Langford is expected at noon.

Superstorm-Hurricane Sandy has passed through the entire region leaving behind a path of destruction from the Jersey shore through the Philadelphia area. Hurricane Sandy has now made landfall near Atlantic City in South Jersey. It is currently moving slowly across Southern New Jersey and will move up into Central Pennsylvania over the next day. Sandy has now become a post-tropical cyclone, it is no longer a hurricane by definition. However, don't be fooled, it still is packing winds of 85 mph at its center. Some are now calling it Superstorm Sandy.

Hurricane Sandy is still a Category 1 Hurricane but is strengthening on Monday off the coast about 60 miles from New Jersey. The latest update has it's maximum sustained winds at 90 mph. It has made it's westerly left hook and it heading back towards the coast. Currently the forecast track has it making landfall somewhere near Atlantic City and Cape May around 6pm.
